Cammeron Alekzandra Batanides

Fine Artist

Imagine visions of guitar houses, piano key walkways and music note hedges and you will actually be viewing the original, abstract acrylic art of Cammeron Alekzandra Batanides. Using rich, vibrant colors to bring the art of music to life on canvas, Batanides’ style makes you want to dance, sing and lose yourself in the rhythm of the moment.

A native of Charlotte currently living in Wilmington, N.C., Batanides is an international fine artist and children’s book author/illustrator. Predominately working with acrylics, watercolor and charcoal, her works have been featured across the United States and throughout Jamaica.

Cammeron’s latest passion is painting internationally renowned musicians as they perform live at venues across the country. Her subjects include the likes of Jamaican Reggae artist Edge Michael, The Wailers (Bob Marley), Michael Franti and Spearhead, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, G Love & Special Sauce and Stephen Marley … just to name a few.  And the list is growing.

Musician Jack White, ranked No. 17 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists," was a subject of one of Batanides’ paintings. The original now hangs in Jack White’s manager's office in Los Angeles as a tribute to White and Cammeron's artistic talents.

One of 14 artists in the world chosen for a group exhibit sponsored by CBS at the 2013 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in conjunction with the 2013 French Quarter Festival, Batanides was also invited to California during that same period for a solo exhibition of her work at the legendary Los Angeles Fine Arts Building. Locally, she has been commissioned to paint seven public and private murals in the downtown Wilmington area and receives consistent requests for individual commissions.

Then there is Panda … who is creating quite a PANDA-MONIUM  with children from around the world. Batanides authors and illustrates a series of children’s books that feature a loving and curious pit bull with pink lips and a perfect brindle spot on her rear who loves to learn and teach life lessons about acceptance, patience and love.

The best part you might ask? Panda actually exists. She snuggles with Cammeron every night, gives really great wet kisses and is available for live appearances, book signings and custom birthday parties too.

“Meet Panda” and “Panda's First Christmas,” the first two in a continuing series, can be found on, and at a number of independent retailers across the East Coast.

Cammeron Alekzandra Batanides is the living example of her art and writing. Her colorful personality, her love for music, her boisterous laugh, and her drive to succeed while sharing a part of herself is contagious.

Once you meet her and see her work, you will also want to live in a guitar house, walk down piano key sidewalks picking music notes from hedges with a Panda of your own … just as she does every day.
